Working with Historic Places for 15 Years

Owner and principal Erika Warzel first worked in the field of art conservation, enjoying the combination of art, science, and history inherent to each restoration project. However, she wanted to have more of a direct community impact. Once she discovered historic preservation, and the way it shaped places and the people who used and lived in them, she knew she had found her calling.

Erika has a range of experience in many different aspects of the field, including architectural rehabilitation projects, non-profit advocacy, grant writing and project management, and working in the Colorado State Historic Preservation Office and State Historical Fund grant program. She has extensive knowledge of state and federal preservation programs, including the National Register of Historic Places and Colorado State Register of Historic Properties, and meets the Secretary of Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Architectural History.

Above all, Erika has a great love of historic places, their unique stories, and the way in which those stories reflect and benefit diverse communities and the people within them.
